Parichay 2025: The Banner Drop that Ignited a Campus

Introduction

The cultural pulse of RNS Institute of Technology reached a fever pitch in late 2024 and early 2025 with the return of Parichay, the institute's legendary intra-college cultural extravaganza. Supported by title sponsors like InsightsIAS, the fest serves as a grand stage for students to rediscover their non-technical identities.

  • Banner Drop Ceremony: The traditional "Banner Drop" at the basketball court officially marks the beginning of weeks of auditions and rehearsals. It is a moment of pure collective energy where the Cultural Activity Team (CAT) unveils the theme for the year.

  • Project Open House Panorama 2025: An annual exhibition where students present prototypes to industry luminaries. Recent standouts include:

    • Jeevadhara: An AI-enabled application that uses image-to-speech and text-to-speech to connect senses for disabled individuals.

    • NeuroVision: A Deep Learning and Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) system designed for assistive devices using EEG signals.

  • Agile Labs and CoE Infrastructure: The Department of Computer Science now houses a VTU-recognized R&D Center and specialized Agile Labs to teach students the Scrum and Sprint methodologies used in global tech firms.

  • Mechanical "Makers Lab": A dedicated space where faculty demonstrate basic physics and mechanical concepts using cut sections of real automotive engines and disassembled aircraft parts RNS Institute of Technology.

  • Departmental Rivalry: In Parichay, departments don't just compete; they battle for glory in singing, classical dance (Natarang), and western dance (Synapse). It is a test of organizational skill and artistic expression.

  • Ethnic Day Celebrations: A highlight of the fest is Ethnic Day, where the 5,600+ student body celebrates India's diversity, followed by high-energy Dhandiya and Tammate performances.
